A: BAIID is an acronym for Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device
Q: How does a BAIID work?
A: Prior to starting your vehicle, the BAIID will prompt you to give a breath sample. The driver gives a breath sample lasting approximately 4-5 seconds. This "deep lung" breath sample will be analyzed by the computer and determine if the vehcile should be allowed to start.
Q: How long does it take to install the device?
A: Installation takes approximately 1-hour. You will also be instructed during this time how to properly use the device.
Q: How much will this cost me?
A: Big Sky Ignition Interlock (BSII) set the prices for lease at current market pricing. BSII charges $160.00 ($85.00 for install and $75.00 for the first month lease) on the day of installation. Subsequent monthly lease rates are $75.00.
Q: What are the benefits to having a BAIID?
A: The benefits are numerous. First, you will be allowed to drive leagally. Also you can be assured that you will never be impaired when behind the wheel. Furthermore, some insurance companies offer reduced rates on insurance policies when a BAIID is installed.
Q: Do I have to be a court ordered offender to have a BAIID?
A: Absolutely not. BSII installs BAIIDs in "volunteer" vehicles as well.
